Your Friday Jam: When the Lights Go Out

This weekend I’m in the mood for a good Red Dirt Country song, so here’s a relative newcomer to the scene – Sam Riggs.  Originally from Florida, he picked up and moved to Austin when he heard a Reckless Kelly album and loved the raw sound of Red Dirt music.  If my endorsement is not enough to get you to listen, the one and only Ray Wylie Hubbard said this of Mr. Riggs, “Sam Riggs wears a legacy of honest country, makes good rock, writes lyrics that matter and straps on a stage presence second to none.”

Enjoy “When the Lights Go Out” from Sam’s debut full-length album “Outrun the Sun” and his EP “Lighthouse”.
